Clare provides management and business training, consultancy and assessment, a Fellow of the CIPD and she is a published author of training materials. She is a qualified teacher, assessor and verifier and an accredited user of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ®, the Strength Deployment Inventory ® and MiRo ® behavioural mode assessment.

Clare's standards based management training, includes the design and delivery of a management programme for team leaders at a local factory, which received a National Training Award.

Clare is a former Chairman of Growing Space, an organisation providing training to individuals with Mental Health problems. In addition to her Board responsibilities, she was involved in funding negotiations, staff recruitment and business planning activities.

Clare also spent some years at a local enterprise agency where she provided training, support and counselling to those entering or in self-employment, specialising in encouraging female entrepreneurship. Clare also managed the marketing division of the agency and was responsible for all internal training, development and appraisal procedures.

Other experience includes business and management training, teaching, administrative work, broadcasting, and the editing and production of community magazines.
